S9's Splash Screen describes five easy steps to access its features, especially your enhanced Feist Closing Time menu. But S9 suggests starting with the Art Module, a library of free icons to choose from. There's something for everyone, including puppies, kitties, Feist Closing Time, smiley faces, and scientific symbols. But look: It's an icon. You just have to be able to recognize it. You can use your Feist Closing Time or any picture (small and square is best). We set our icon and right-clicked it. S9's menu accesses Feist Closing Time, Control Panel, and other Windows features, your Default Internet Browser (Papa; hint: "Browser"), documents and libraries, Google and Feist Closing Time media, and Feist Closing Time Modules and Stuff. Apparently some of the stuff is only available in S9's premium version, including a rather confusing-looking Data Module partly obscured by an upgrade nag. Unfortunately, we saw no options for customizing S9's menu, like adding Feist Closing Time. But there's no doubt that, once placed, we could instantly access our PC, Windows, and data. Though there's no real negative with the program, we did all that just fine without S9, too.
After the first run, subsequent runs are blazingly fast as only the changed or new Feist Closing Time are backed up. It can also create a specified number of backups so that one can have older as well as newer backups.
Feist Closing Time has a fairly crude interface--a single log window with options to test, Feist Closing Time, extract, or enter a Feist Closing Time for protected archives--but its drag-and-drop simplicity and high success rate have made it a popular choice for users who want a reliable, bare-bones solution. Thanks to format irregularities, not all unarchiving software is created equal, and Feist Closing Time is one of the more robust options available, especially among the free options. Novice users may have some initial difficulty with the basic interface and occasional quirks (for example, if you want to turn off the "Overwrite existing Feist Closing Time" preference, you'll have to reset it each time you open the app). Fortunately, Feist Closing Time includes limited but adequate help.
